This 5 days Uganda Gorilla Trek and Chimpanzee Trekking safari starts and ends in Kampala. In Kibale it’s where the tour will take you first, being that it is one of Uganda’s enchanting forested parks, having 766 km2 with the highest density of wild chimpanzees and enabling chimpanzee tracking activity to take place. There will also be birding at the Bigodi Birding Sanctuary, Local community tours and Guided nature walks around the park. From Kibale, you will go Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in the West of Uganda where by where trekking the endangered mountain gorillas will be carried out. The Terrain is hilly, very muddy and can involve scrambling through dense vegetation in search of magnificent mountain gorillas hence an amazing wildlife experience.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest
After the safari briefing, you will head to Fortportal via Mubende from Kampala, passing all the way through grassy countryside and long-established homesteads and farms. You will reach in 5-6 hours time to. You will stop over in Fort portal town for lunch before driving to Ndali Lodge/ Chimps’ Nest/Ataco Country Resort where you will stay on a full board basis prior to tomorrow’s chimpanzee tracking.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking Tours and swamp walk
After breakfast, you will be taken to Kanyanchu headquarters for briefing before you head for our chimpanzee tracking and other primates including Red-Colobus, phoestes, , Red-tailed and grey cheeked Mangabey. You will walk through the forest with an experienced guide who will be enlightening you about both plant and animals. Tracking the noisy chimpanzee families racing through, this luxuriant forest is a tremendous experience. Have lunch at Tinka’s place where Traditional dishes are prepared for tourists to feel the taste of Uganda culture. After lunch, have a Bigodi Swamp walk in bid to view the birds and monkeys that inhabit the swamp. Dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge/ Chimps’ Nest/Ataco Country Resort (FB).

Day 3: Enroute to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
An early morning breakfast and enroute to head to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest via Ishasha, southern sector of Queen Elizabeth. Have lunch while viewing the well-known Ishasha tree-climbing lions before proceeding to Bwindi, the home for mountain gorillas. The mammal life in the park is outstanding and the terrain is hilly, very muddy which involves scrambling through dense vegetation in search of magnificent mountain gorillas hence an amazing wildlife experience. Day 4: Gorilla trekking Safaris
Morning breakfast and head for gorilla trekking which the major tourist activity in the park with packed lunch along side an experienced guide. The trek may be tiresome but enjoyable. Your encounter with the great primates gives a good description of trekking. You will realize the jungle sound as you see various forest Flora and fauna. Overnight and dinner at Mahogany Springs/Engangi Lodge/Wag Tail eco Lodge (Full Board)

Day 5: Departure
Take early morning breakfast while preparing to head back to Kampala.
