This 6 days Uganda safari starts and ends in Kampala. The tour begins in Kigali, one of Uganda’s enchanting forested parks. Having 766 km2, this is the best place to see chimpanzees in their natural habitat. You will also go birding at the Bigodi Birding Sanctuary. From Kibale, travel to the nearby Queen Elizabeth National Park located on the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains of Uganda. Enjoy unrivalled game viewing and birding in this park. Later the safari will end in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest where you will track the endangered mountain gorillas.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest
After the safari briefing you will head to Fortportal via Mubende from Kampala. You will reach in 5-6 hours time to have lunch at Tinka’s place who prepares Traditional dishes for tourists to feel the taste of culture. After lunch, have a Bigodi Swamp walk in bid to view the birds and monkeys that inhabit the swamp. Transfer to Ndali Lodge/Chimps’ Nest/Ataco Country Resort on a full board basis to have an overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and drive to Queen Elizabeth
After breakfast, you will be taken to Kanyanchu headquarters for briefing before you head for our chimpanzee tracking. You will be grouped in groups of six and then walk through the forest with an experienced guide who will be enlightening you about both plant and animals. Tracking the noisy chimpanzee families racing through, this luxuriant forest is a tremendous experience. Go have lunch and be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park located in Western Uganda on Mount Rwenzori foothills. While on the drive, take keen of the wild game that you may come in contact with, on your way to the park. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Katara Lodge /Enganzi Lodge(FB)

Day 3: Game drive and Launch cruise
Very early morning before sunrise, you will have a game drive in the park to catch the early risers. The animal life in the park is diverse that one can see the Uganda Kobs, water and bush bucks, bush pigs and many others. Return for the late breakfast and relax. After Lunch, head for the boat cruising at the Kazinga channel. As you cruise, you will view variety of birds and animals and of course the wonderful scenery. Our professional guides will be helpful in providing information and answering your questions. Come prepared with cameras and binocular. Day 4: Kyambura chimp tracking and Maramagambo forest walk
A pleasure trip to the Kyambura gorge close by to track the high-speed and subtle chimpanzees. When chimp tracking, the walking activity is captivating while the viewing may be changeable. Depending on time, you may carry out Maramagambo forest walks, blue lake and bat cave visit. Have a picnic lunch and enroute to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in the South Western Uganda, the home of gorillas via the Ishasha sector. You will reach the park in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs/Lake Kitandara Tented Camp/Buhoma Community Bandas(FB).

Day 5: Gorilla trekking
Morning breakfast and head for gorilla trekking which the major tourist activity in the park with packed lunch along side an experienced guide. You will be taken to the Park headquarters for the brief on the gorillas. The trek may be tiresome but enjoyable. Your encounter with the great primates gives a good portrayal of trekking. You will appreciate the jungle sound as you see various forest Flora and fauna. Go for relaxation after the tiresome gorilla trek. Overnight at Mahogany Springs/Lake Kitandara Tented Camp/Buhoma Community Bandas (FB).

Day 6: Return to Kampala
Return to Kampala. Picnic lunch enroute while stopping at the equator for photographs, to arrive in Kampala late evening.
